Public Meetings

The Board of Education wishes to invite the public and its partners to participate in its regularly scheduled meetings for the 2026-27 school year.

The 2026-27 Regular (Public) Board of Education Meetings get underway at 5:00 p.m. when held in Terrace at the Board of Education Office and at 5:30 p.m. when at various locations around the school district.  Meetings are also available virtually on Zoom or via the school district’s YouTube channel.

 

There are no Regular Board of Education Meetings scheduled in December 2026 and in March 2027.

  • September 29, 2026 - Board of Education Office, Terrace
  • October 28, 2026 - Hazelton Secondary School, Hazelton
  • November 24, 2026 – Board of Education Office, Terrace
  • January 27, 2027 – Board of Education Office, Terrace
  • February 24, 2027 – Mount Elizabeth Middle Secondary School, Kitimat
  • April 28, 2027 - Board of Education Office, Terrace
  • May 26, 2027 – Bear Valley School, Stewart
  • June 16, 2027 – Board of Education Office, Terrace
  • June 23, 2027 - Board of Education Office, Terrace (if required)

Question Period

At the end of each Regular Board Meeting, there is a 10-minute question period for the public. Questions must pertain to the agenda and can be presented in person at the Regular Board Meeting or emailed no later than 4:00 p.m. on the day of the Regular Board Meeting to the attention of Lindsay Harder, Executive Assistant at lindsay.harder@cmsd.bc.ca.

Questions or comments about personal issues, individuals or property acquisitions are not appropriate for public meetings.  A written response to questions to the Board will be provided as soon as practicable.  Questions asked at the Regular Board Meeting are recorded for follow up by the Board in the event an answer is not provided during the Question Period.

The Regular (Public) Board Meeting will also be livestreamed via the CMSD YouTube Channel at Live Stream CMSD Board Meeting.

Presentations

In accordance with the Board’s Delegation/Presentation Protocol, presentations to the Board require one week’s advance notice.  Written documentation on the material to be presented to the Board is required no later than 4:00 p.m. on the Wednesday prior to the Regular Board Meeting.  Presentations will be held to a maximum of 10 minutes.  Kindly coordinate your presentation request to the Board through Lindsay Harder, Executive Assistant at (250) 638-4401 or at lindsay.harder@cmsd.bc.ca.
