On December 15, the province announced that more than 1300 schools province-wide were receiving Community Gaming Grants in support of events, activities and equiptment for student learning and parent involvement. In Coast Mountains School District, 9 school PACs made the short list for funding, in addition to the District Parent Advisory Council (DPAC).
Local schools included in the announcement are:
- Caledonia Senior Secondary School - $11,500
- Hazelton Secondary School - $7,820
- Kildala Elementary School - $4,460
- Mount Elizabeth Middle Secondary School - $11,260
- New Hazelton Elementary School - $2,000
- Skeena Middle School - $10,160
- Suwilaawks Community School - $6,380
- Thornhill Elementary School - $2,700
- Thornhill Primary School - $3,520
- District Parent Advisory Council - $2,500
