Just a reminder for parents-caregivers that Friday, May 16 is a non-instructional day in Coast Mountains School District.  No classes are in session and buses will not be running. The regular school schedule will resume on Tuesday, May 20.  Note that all Coast Mountains' schools and offices will be closed on Monday, May 19 for Victoria Day.

May 16 is the fifth and last professional development day of the school year for School District 82.  For students, this means an extra long weekend and more time to play or relax.  But for our teachers and many of our support staff, this is a day set aside specifically for them to learn.

There are a wide variety of happenings such as subject-specific conferences, workshops, and online sessions that are held throughout the school district.  Professional learning days provide time for staff to learn new skills to implement in their classrooms, collaborate with others, and further develop their expertise.

These types of learning series enable educators to develop tools and strategies that support ongoing improvements in student learning, exemplifying an overarching goal of the District's Strategic Plan that All Students Realizing Their Full Potential.
