It is with mixed emotions that I share some administrative news this afternoon.  Robert Clifton, CMSD Director of Instruction (Indigenous Education) has been successful in his bid for the Superintendent role in Nisga’a School District #92.  Robert has submitted his resignation effective July 31, 2024 at which time he will assume the Assistant Superintendent position August 1, moving into the Superintendent role on December 1 as their current Superintendent, Matthew Monkman, concludes his service with the district.

Robert joined Coast Mountains School District in August 2022, and the district has benefitted from his passionate leadership of the Indigenous Education Department.  Over the last two years he has worked diligently to build capacity across the department, elevate Indigenous voice, and create conditions that support the success and well-being of Indigenous learners district wide.
