The Board of Education for Coast Mountains School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Phillip Barron to the position of Director of Instruction, Learning Services effective December 1, 2024.
Currently serving as District Principal responsible for mentoring and learner engagement, Phillip holds a Bachelor of Education degree from Mount Saint Vincent University and a Master of Education degree jointly through the University of British Columbia and Mount Saint Vincent University.
Phillip has demonstrated exemplary leadership serving in the role of District Principal and in the role of Principal at Skeena Middle School. He is passionate about education, innovation, learning success and inclusivity for all students, including those from diverse and rich cultural backgrounds.
Phillip brings more than 30 years of experience to the role of Director of Instruction, Learning Services as a highly respected and experienced educator known for his positive, caring nature and the high level of commitment and professionalism he brings to every situation. Phillip has served the district as a teacher in Hazelton, as a Principal and Vice Principal in Terrace in six different schools. His extensive experience and the reputation he has developed as a respectful, highly competent team player will continue to complement Phillip in his new role.
The experience, insight and dedication that Phillip brings to his new role will benefit the school district immensely from his strong leadership background, as an effective team builder and communicator, and proven commitment to student learning and building relationships.
