CMSD82 News Release – Stacey Rodrigues, MEMSS Vice Principal Appointment – Aug. 1, 2021  (PDF Format)

 

The Board of Education for Coast Mountains School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Stacey Rodrigues to the position of Vice Principal at Mount Elizabeth Middle/Secondary School effective August 1, 2021.

Stacey, who was born and raised in Kitimat, attended local schools and is a graduate of Mount Elizabeth Middle/Secondary School.  She returned to her home community and joined the school district in April 2015 as a Teacher Teaching-On-Call.  Stacey held various temporary teaching assignments before assuming a full-time Classroom Teacher position at Kildala Elementary School for the 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 school years.  In September 2019, Stacey assumed the full-time position of Grade 7 Teacher at Mount Elizabeth Middle/Secondary School teaching in all subject areas.  She continued in this position for the 2020-2021 school year and took on the duties of Grade 7 Department Head and Middle School Team Leader with the goal of creating a cohort that could share in learning experiences and adventures together.  Stacey previously worked in the Peace River School District as a Primary Classroom Teacher and in various short-term teaching assignments.

Stacey holds a Bachelor of Education Degree from the University of Victoria as well as a Master of Education Degree from Thompson Rivers University with a focus on mental health strategies, creating care and authentic learning experiences in schools.  She also holds a Certificate in Special Education from Queen’s University.

A passionate advocate for the success of all learners, Stacey has a reputation for bringing an energetic, team-focused approach to everything she does.  Her knowledge of the community, students and families, and her reputation as a dedicated educator with deep commitment to the success of young people, will serve Mount Elizabeth Middle/Secondary School well.

We welcome Stacey to her new role as Vice Principal at Mount Elizabeth Middle/Secondary School and extend to her every success as she pursues this exciting career change.
