CMSD82 Board of Education News Release – Superintendent Search Process
The Board of Education of Coast Mountains School District 82 has initiated a Superintendent of Schools search for the succession of Janet Meyer who shared her retirement effective August 31, 2022. The Board of Education is pleased to announce that Educational Consultant, Anne Cooper, has been engaged to facilitate this process.
Mrs. Cooper is a former Superintendent of School District No. 19 (Revelstoke) and School District No. 81 (Fort Nelson) with extensive experience in school district leadership, recruitment, and Board governance. She will be assisting to implement a comprehensive recruitment and selection process designed to identify the candidate whose skills and experiences will be best suited for Coast Mountains School District going forward.
Working with the consultant, the Board of Education has established a recruitment plan that features meaningful input from staff and partner groups to assist in the development of a candidate profile. Consultations with staff and partner groups will be conducted January 5 to 14, 2022 by Mrs. Cooper. These consultations will assist in developing a comprehensive candidate profile that will be used for advertising the position and the key elements of the selection process.
The Board of Education is committed to engaging staff and partner groups in a comprehensive selection process.
Barring any unforeseen delays, the Board of Education plans to announce the successful candidate in March 2022, with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2022.
