  • Free, live coding workshops for kids May 24, 2020
    From creating online games to building websites, students now have access to free, live online coding workshops through the Ministry of Education website Keep Learning BC.
  • K-12 students to have optional in-class instruction on June 1 May 15, 2020
    Parents will have the choice of bringing their children back to class on a part-time basis this school year as part of BC’s Restart Plan, with the goal of returning to full-time classes in September 2020, provided it is safe to do so.

On February 28, 2020 all school districts in the province received guidance from the Provincial Health Officer and the BC Centre for Disease Control regarding measures for preventing and controlling respiratory viruses, including COVID-19, in schools and childcare facilities.

The Ministry of Health has provided the following message to be shared with parents/guardians to ensure up-to-date information is available about the measures for preventing and controlling respiratory viruses and how they are being implemented in our district.  The information will also let you know what steps you can take at home.

In addition, the Provincial Health Officer has released the following new Frequently Asked Questions on COVID-19 for Children and Students.  The FAQs provide more information on COVID-19 – including symptoms, prevention practices and additional resources – as well as guidance related to staying home from school, wearing masks and supporting friends/classmates who are worried about the coronavirus.
