For the information of parents and students in the Coast Mountains School District – Term Two Report Cards will be issued throughout the school district after Spring Break and after all job action related activity is over.  Early dismissal will therefore not be necessary next Wednesday March 14 and Thursday March 15, and when possible, the school district will work to ensure quality reporting and communicating with parents regarding student progress takes place.

Parents will be given as much pre-notice as possible to understand how Term Two reporting and meeting procedures with teachers will take place, and in the meantime, parents are encouraged to call teachers directly for updates on the performance of their children in the classroom.

Coast Mountains School District apologizes for any inconvenience this situation may cause to parents and caregivers.

  1. As far as we know today (at 2:00 p.m.), all schools will be open and busses running on Thursday March 8 and Friday March 9 and next week.
  2. All schools in the school district will remain on the current bell schedule that was introduced to help manage the BCTF Strike.  Only after the Easter Weekend, and after all job action related activity is over, will schools and bus runs return to the normal bell schedule.

If further job action causes additional school closures, we will inform you as soon as possible via local radio and the school district web site at www.cmsd.bc.ca.  Parents will be given as much pre-notice as possible about when the bell schedule will return to a normal one, after the Easter Weekend.
