CMSD82 News Release – Travis Elwood, Director of Facility Services Resignation  (PDF Format)

It is with mixed emotions that we share the resignation of Travis Elwood, Director of Facility Services.  Travis has accepted the position of Director of Operations with the North Okanagan-Shuswap School District No. 83 (Salmon Arm).  His official date of resignation will be determined once a transition plan is finalized.

Travis joined Coast Mountains School District in July 2009 in the position of Carpenter/Cabinet Maker in our Maintenance Department.  He rose to the position of Maintenance Supervisor in September 2012 prior to his appointment to the position of Director of Facility Services in March 2014, a position he has held until present.

Coast Mountains School District extends its sincere gratitude and appreciation to Travis for his significant and valuable contributions made over the past 11 years in moving the Facilities Department forward in great strides.

The Facilities Department, under Travis’ guidance and vision, achieved many accomplishments over his tenure and we commend him for his positive focus and leadership including the compassionate approach that he consistently brought to all matters.  Travis’ extensive experience, strong maintenance background, effective leadership and expertise will be sadly missed.

The school district will be actively seeking a Director of Facility Services and will initiate a Canada wide search in early January 2021.

Our very best wishes are extended to Travis for every success in his future endeavors.
