CMSD82 Presents Ministry Curriculum Implementation Sessions Poster – February 10, 2017

Coast Mountains School District recently welcomed BC’s Chief Educator, Suzanne Hoffman as facilitator and presenter for our Grades 10-12 Curriculum Implementation Day Session held on January 20, 2017 at the Northwest Trades & Employment Training Centre. We are pleased to share that Maureen Dockendorf and Jan Unwin, members of the Ministry of Education’s Outreach Team responsible for curriculum implementation, will be in our school district on Friday, February 10, 2017 (non-instructional day) to continue the conversations at the K-9 and Grades 10-12 levels. In their roles, Maureen and Jan continue to support their work of the curriculum redesign and implementation.

Maureen is currently the BC Superintendent of Early Years, a new joint position shared between the Provincial Office for the Early Years and the Ministry of Education. She has worked as a Teacher, SFU Faculty Associate, Principal and Assistant Superintendent. Most recently, Maureen has been the Superintendent of Literacy and Numeracy at the Ministry of Education to support the redesign of curriculum and competency development within the context of the transformational change process in BC’s education system.

Jan is currently the Superintendent of Graduation & Student Transition at the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Advanced Education. Jan is well known and respected throughout the education system for her work as an innovative Elementary and Secondary Principal, Assistant Superintendent and Superintendent in the Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows school district.
