CMSD82 News Release – Transition Director of HR Retirement & Appointment of New Director of HR – May 7, 2019

I am writing to you today in follow up to the announcement of December 20, 2018 regarding the impending retirement of Cam MacKay, Director of Human Resources effective August 31, 2019.

We are saddened to share that today will be Cam’s last working day with the school district prior to his official retirement date of August 31.  Cam plans to utilize outstanding vacation time as he transitions into a well-deserved retirement.

As previously shared, it is difficult if not impossible to sum up Cam’s achievements over the past 33 years of dedicated service. On behalf of the Coast Mountains Board of Education, I wish to personally express our sincerest gratitude and appreciation for Cam’s outstanding commitment to staff, parents and students and for his exemplary leadership demonstrated throughout his tenure with the school district. The success of our students and our school district would not be where it is at without people like Cam who are willing to give back more than they receive.

A retirement celebration is planned for late August 2019 to acknowledge Cam’s significant contributions to the school district and to provide an opportunity for everyone to extend their best wishes to him upon his retirement. Details regarding Cam’s retirement celebration will be shared in mid-June 2019.

In light of Cam’s transition into his impending retirement, Janet Meyer, who has been appointed to the position of Director of Human Resources, will officially transition into her new role effective today, May 7.  Please accept our sincere thanks in advance in welcoming and providing assistance to Janet as she assumes her new role in the coming days. Your patience and understanding is appreciated as we transition through this important administration change.

We extend our sincerest congratulations to Cam on his impending retirement and our best wishes to Janet for every success in her new role.
