Curriculum Implementation Day Venue Programs – Sept. 6, 2016

The first of two Curriculum Implementation Days for the upcoming 2016-2017 school year will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2016. The second Curriculum Implementation Day is planned on January 20, 2017. These days are specifically dedicated to BC’s redesigned K-12 curriculum. The new direction of the redesign is intended to give our students the knowledge, skills and attitudes they will need to succeed in a world that is dramatically different from the one we know today.
Coast Mountains’ teachers and administrators have developed some innovative and amazing work to transition to this redesigned curriculum. The Curriculum Implementation Day planned on September 6 is a Non-Instructional Day as communicated via the school district’s Amended 2016-2017 School Calendar. This day will be used to give Coast Mountains’ teachers and administrators time to become more familiar with the new curriculum.
The following Curriculum Implementation Day sessions have been planned in Hazelton, Kitimat, Terrace and Stewart on Tuesday, September 6. Please reference the above-mentioned memorandum and venue session programs for complete details. While the content will be consistent, there may be slight variations in delivery across the four communities.

Kitimat Grade K-6 Teachers – Kildala Elementary School
Kitimat Grade 7-12 Teachers – Mount Elizabeth Middle/Secondary School
Terrace K-6 Teachers – Cassie Elementary School (updated venue)
Terrace Grade 7-9 Teachers – Skeena Middle School (updated program)
Terrace/Kitimat Grade 10-12 Teachers – Caledonia Secondary School
