CMSD82 Board of Education News Release – Extended Assignment, Acting Superintendent of Schools

 

The Board of Education is pleased to announce the assignment extension of Janet Meyer as Acting Superintendent of Schools through to August 31, 2020 during the secondment period of Katherine McIntosh, Superintendent of Schools to the Ministry of Education.

The Board of Education is committed to supporting Janet to ensure the continued safe and successful learning environment for all our students and staff.

Respected as an effective leader, team builder, committed educator and communicator who puts the learning needs of children first, Janet is eager to continue to build on relationships that will make it possible to focus on student learning through the hard work and dedication of all school district employees and partner groups. These relationships will enable us to collectively and collaboratively work together to ensure a strong future for Coast Mountains’ learners and schools.

Janet’s academic background includes a Bachelor of Education Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Victoria and a Master of Education Degree in Leadership Studies from the University of Victoria with a focus on Indigenous Parent Participation in Schools.

Please accept our sincere thanks in advance in providing assistance to Janet as she assumes this extended acting role. Your patience and understanding is appreciated as we transition through this important administration change.
