Coast Mountains School District is a vibrant learning community serving approx. 4,500 students in Grades K-12 and their families.  Trustees are responsible for the governance of education at the local level, and our seven-member Board of Education plays a key role in support of quality education services across our school district.

Local government elections in British Columbia are held every four years.  This includes elections for mayors, councillors, regional district electoral area directors, school trustees, local community commissioners and park board commissioners.  Local government elections are held on the third Saturday in October which also includes school trustees.  The next elections for school trustees will be held on October 20, 2018.  Elections and by-elections are conducted according to the rules and regulations set out in the Local Government Act which governs local government elections throughout British Columbia.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I would like to welcome the school community to the 2018-2019 School Year!   We are looking forward to working with all of you this year on behalf of Coast Mountains learners, and continue to make progress towards our district goals.

District Goals … Raise literacy and numeracy levels for all of our learners.  Graduation for every learner; crossing the stage with dignity, purpose and options.  Enhance learner engagement, opportunities and choice through personalized learning.

If you are a student who is required to take a Provincial Exam this summer, please read the information below. Additional information can be found on the Ministry of Education website.

Since all exams are electronic, you can locate the sample exams through the Ministry website link shared above.  If you have never attempted an electronic exam, it is suggested that you take the time to practice with the ‘past exams’.

Electronic Exams:
All Grade 12 required Provincial Exams will be administered electronically.
