We have been honoured and privileged to represent Coast Mountains School District 82 over the past year. We believe, as a Board of Education, that the successful educational, emotional, social and physical growth of students is achieved through the collaboration and involvement of the parents, staff, trustees and the community at large. With this premise in mind, we are certain that schools within Coast Mountains School District 82 will continue to provide our students with a safe, caring and productive learning environment. We look forward to continue working with all educational partners, committees and partner groups to promote and enhance student learning across all the communities in our wonderfully diverse district.

Telling our stories, one video at time is one of the best ways to share Coast Mountains School District’s stories and approach to learning.

We invite you to join us through video, so you can see and hear stories of learning, teaching and innovation directly from our students and educators.

This video entitled “Kitwanga Poem” was filmed at our Kitwanga Elementary School and presented as the opening message for teaching staff district wide at the Curriculum Implementation Day held on September 5, 2017.  This is a beautiful poem written by a Grade 7 student at Kitwanga Elementary School sharing the experience of a Residential School student.

The WorkBC “Find Your Fit Tour” is a fun and interactive student-based career exploration event taking place at our Caledonia Secondary School gym on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 from 8:45 a.m. to 3:12 p.m. for students and teachers, and from 3:45 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. for students, parents and community members.

CMSD82 News Release – Ray McDonald, Secretary Treasurer Appointment – January 7, 2019  (PDF Format)

 

The Board of Education for Coast Mountains School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Raymond (Ray) McDonald to the position of Secretary Treasurer effective January 7, 2019.

Ray brings more than 30 years of business experience to the role of Secretary Treasurer. He is a highly respected executive within B.C.’s private sector having served in the positions as Corporate Secretary and Treasurer, Vice President Finance, and Corporate Controller with organizations based in Port McNeill and Port Alice.

The Secretary Treasurer plays an important and key role in the operation of Coast Mountains School District. Ray’s extensive experience as an effective and highly competent team player with a wealth of financial expertise and a solid understanding of how systems work will prove invaluable in his new role.
