CMSD82 District Trades Careers Coordinator Appointment, Aug. 1, 2013  (PDF Format)

Congrats

Coast Mountains School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Carol Leclerc to the position of District Trades Careers Coordinator effective August 1, 2013.

Carol joined the school district in 1990 as the Secretary to the Director of Instruction, Special Services, assuming the role of Secretary to the Superintendent of Schools in 1997.  Carol transferred to the position of Executive Assistant Human Resources in 2003, a position she has held to this date.  Carol’s administration career with the school district has been characterized by hard work and a willingness to support and encourage employees district wide.  Carol is currently working on her Masters of Arts in Professional Communication through Royal Roads University.

In the newly created position of District Trades Careers Coordinator, Carol will provide district leadership in the development and implementation of a comprehensive Career Education Program.  Her responsibilities will include building the corporate partnerships necessary to support the development of local trades training programs that will provide students with the skills to become viable employees in the local and provincial labour markets.

Carol’s strong sense of community and experience in local and regional government have given her a good understanding of regional issues that will complement this role.  Her passion and advocacy for economic development and the resulting benefits for our region will be a strength as she works towards creating training and employability opportunities for youth in the communities of Hazelton, Kitimat, Kitwanga, Stewart and Terrace and all of the First Nations communities within our school district.

Coast Mountains School District feels very fortunate to have an individual of Carol’s calibre willing to step into this exciting new role.
